Dining Hall Meal Program
St Johnsbury Academy and Sodexo have made it possible for you, the parent, to provide your Child with money on an account instead of remembering to give them cash to buy Breakfast and lunch every day. The Debit card is attached to the students ID Card and their ID number.
At the start of school, you will be able to deposit money in your child’s lunch account. You and your child can deposit money on the account for the month, semester or year. On Monday through Friday from 7:30-8:00 am, and 2:35-4:00pm, Sodexo Food Services will be available at Breakfast option in the Cafe located on the ground floor of Streeter Hall to accept funds to be applied to your child’s dining hall account.
When your child presents his or her Academy Student Identification Card to the cashier, the price of the lunch will be deducted from the account. If you choose this program, please note that your child is responsible for the security of the card. The card must never be lent to others for their use. If the card is lost, it is your child’s responsibility to report the missing card immediately to either the dining hall management or Academy Administration and make arrangements for a replacement card. The Academy is not responsible for overdrafts or improper use of the dining hall debit card program.
Your child can participate in the federal school Breakfast and lunch program for $1.50 or $3.25 a meal. It is always the responsibility of you and your child to make sure there are enough funds in your account. If not, lunch can still be purchased with cash. Students will be allowed one overdraft if your balance is overdrawn.
If you choose this program, you can deposit funds in cash or by check payable to St. Johnsbury Academy. To make the program work efficiently, deposits of $25, $50, or $100 should be considered. Funds remaining at the end of the semester or school year can be carried forward or refunded to you, the parent, upon request.
We have also had an initiative to create Healthy Choices in the meal offerings at school. Sodexo has developed a program called “Mind, Body, and Soul” as part of the Academy’s wellness initiative. It can be accessed through the nutrition page and has nutritional facts and recipes for you to use. All the time we are making changes to enhance the program here at the Academy.
